Phang Nga is a small province surrounded by diverse natural beauty—from turquoise seas and quiet islands to mist-covered mountain ranges. For those seeking peace and an escape from the busy world, the scenic trails leading to hilltop viewpoints offer a refreshing alternative.

This article will take you through the journey to Phang Nga’s horizon, a path that’s easy to reach and perfect for slow travel lovers who want to immerse themselves in nature—without the rush.

Where the Adventure Begins: Samet Nangshi Iconic Mountain Viewpoint

Samet Nangshi Viewpoint is a famous hilltop spot in Khlong Khian, Phang Nga, known for its stunning panoramic views of Phang Nga Bay. From the top, you can see limestone islands, a sea of mist, and the first light of day. Visitors can hike an 800-meter trail or take a local shuttle.

The peaceful journey through nature leads to a breathtaking 360-degree view where the sea and mountains stretch endlessly—so beautiful, you’ll want to capture every moment.

What to Prepare Before the Journey:

  • Flashlight or headlamp: Essential for those planning to hike before dawn to ensure visibility and safety on the trail.
  • Good-grip sneakers or hiking shoes: The path can be steep and slippery in places, so proper footwear is a must.
  • Light windbreaker or long-sleeve shirt: Morning temperatures at the summit can be cooler than expected—bring a layer for comfort while waiting for the sunrise.
  • Drinking water and a fully charged camera or phone: Don’t miss your chance to capture the morning light, sea of mist, and the day’s most stunning views.

After soaking in the sea mist and morning light at Samet Nangshi, there’s another nearby destination not to be missed for adventure seekers who want to capture Phang Nga from a new perspective — the futuristic glass bridge stretching over the horizon above Phang Nga Bay, offering a unique high-angle viewing experience at Beyond Skywalk Nangshi.

Rest Where the Sky Begins: Soak in the Beauty of Phang Nga at Beyond Skywalk

After taking in the sea mist at Samet Nangshi, the next must-visit destination is Beyond Skywalk, a glass bridge viewpoint that extends out from the cliff above Phang Nga Bay. It offers a 360-degree view of both mountains and the sea without any obstructions. Walking on the clear glass bridge gives a unique feeling, as if floating above the vast landscape stretching to the horizon.

Besides the stunning views, Beyond Skywalk also has a variety of dining options. There’s Horizon Restaurant for meals with a natural scenic backdrop, Kanda Coffee & Bakery offering baked goods and fresh coffee, Rubtawan Restaurant serving a Thai buffet, and Pool Bar where you can relax with light drinks by the pool while enjoying another peaceful view of Phang Nga.

Plan Your Trip Right: Best Time to Visit & How to Get There

If you want to fully enjoy the sea mist at Samet Nangshi and walk the glass bridge at Beyond Skywalk, the best time to visit is from November to March. This is the high season when the weather is cool and comfortable, and the morning mist is most beautiful. Other months are still possible to visit, but the mist may appear only occasionally.
